Platform feeders are the easiest feeders to make yourself and attract a large range of species. They can be mounted near the ground or higher up to attract different species. You can make a simple platform feeder by attaching a 1x4 or 1x6 board to a mounting pole. The platform can be one to three feet long or whatever your preferences are.
